I am sending lighters to parts of the world. Typically this lighter may very well have only been stolen on a technicality. I intend to give it away by agreement that it was stolen, and on condition that they give it to someone else after using it, hopefully in the direction of its intended destination.
Smoking, which is what I typically use my lighter for, is hazardous for one's health. Insofar as it done in an inappropriately ventilated area is typically hazardous for other people's health. I am trying to stop smoking. That said, this is a project that I reasonably expect to be principally facilitated by smokers.
If you come into possession of one of these lighters, please take a photograph of yourself and send it to the email address on the back of the lighter. Please state your name or nickname, where you were when the photograph was taken (eg nearest settlement and country you are in) and the time and date it was taken. Please do not send anything you do not wish to be published or anything offensive. Please also consider you may wish to hide evidence of crime -e.g. possession of illegal drugs before taking a photograph. Then please do help it on its way by giving it to someone else -why not grab a photo then too! With a lot of luck the lighter will be photographed in Tehran before I get it back. I quite like the idea of a lighter going all around the world. Also, when you email, feel free to express solidarity with the people of Iran against the illegal Israeli-USA war. Assuming one legally can -I am in the UK- I will publish what you comment. There are many legitimate restrictions on freedom of speech and some less so. I do not intend to publish your full name -the intention is to publish your first name or nickname and where and when each photo was taken and the best comments. I may edit comments for brevity but this will be done in an ethical way, I would not do so to mislead. Please also do not publish or photograph the email address on the back to avoid spam.
